Buchan hosts Think International Precincts

Buchan hosted ‘Think International Precincts’ in Sydney this week, bringing together internationally recognised changemakers, and leaders in the creation of high performing precincts – Jace Tyrrell, Chief Executive of the New Sydney Waterfront Co and Angela Lee, Managing Director Asia Pacific and Partner of US Architects, HKS with Buchan Principal and Precinct Sector Lead Phil Schoutrop.

Jace Tyrrell spoke to the power of partnerships between private and public sector, that when supported by an aligned vision and legislation enable precincts to equally support commercial, cultural and community outcomes for long term success.

Angela Lee shared why health precincts are on the rise globally, and the immense opportunity at the intersection where health meets wellness, retail, residential, entertainment and F&B to create thriving and vibrant destinations that positively impact health outcomes.

Phil Schoutrop brought the evening to a close, sharing insights on the urban fabric that binds our communities and the role of research that leads to creating a precinct that is a destination people want to be and come back to.

The event was hosted at the award-winning Locomotive Workshop in South Eveleigh, a precinct that exemplifies best practice in precinct design, and one that Buchan is very proud to have been a collaboration partner on.
