Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetu is the most significant cultural project in New Zealand since Te Papa. The sculptural, iconic form of Christchurch Art Gallery has become a landmark building in New Zealand and merges the interior environment seamlessly with a major outdoor public space. The NZ$47.5 M project for Christchurch City Council was won in a design competition which attracted almost 100 entries and opened in 2003.
